John Burkhardt’s civil and appellate law practice focuses on litigation in federal and state courts, as well as non-litigation business client counseling, with a focus on business and complex commercial litigation, particularly including oil and gas litigation involving both upstream, midstream and downstream operations, employment and employee benefits litigation, financial institution, bankruptcy, and securities litigation, officer and director litigation, intellectual property litigation, insurance litigation, franchise and distributor/dealer litigation, products liability, fiduciary litigation as well as arbitration and mediation. His legal practice has involved commercial disputes of a local, national and international nature. Appellate practice has included successfully arguing cases involving employment, ERISA, breach of contract, oil and gas issues, tort and regulatory issues before the Oklahoma Court of Appeals, Oklahoma Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
John was raised in Chicago. He has lived in Tulsa for the past 37 years, since attending the University of Tulsa.
